Sixty delivered a brand new augmented reality set extension to TV2 Norway’s on-site studio in Denmark, for the 2015 IHF World Women’s Handball Championship.
The augmented reality set we created consists of several layouts, enabling TV2’s sport presenters to quickly show on-air analyses to their viewers. This includes player profiles with bio and full size picture, on court formations with a 3D court model and updates on upcoming matches. Sixty also created a motion captured handball player as a physics simulated cloud of Official IHF handball, and set this up as a part of the augmented reality environment. TV2’s use of NCam® real-time camera tracking enabled Sixty to create real-time Vizrt graphics for the design, based on our ongoing updates of the TV2’s sports brand.
All on-screen, on-air graphics are based on Sixty’s ongoing updates of TV 2’s sports brand and the development of a new real-time event graphics kit. It was also adapted to match IHF World Handball Championship's design elements and color palettes.
''We worked hard to develop the AR as a compelling on-air enhancement for viewers, while also providing TV producers a superior tool to extend their broadcast with content of instant interest to audiences.''
