Sixty demonstrates the value of next generation live sports experiences at NAB Show 2017

press release 21017

BERGEN, Norway ― 12 April, 2017 ―Sixty will demonstrate how it is redefining the future of television with a number of highly innovative multi-platform TV products, solutions and strategic partnership announcements at NAB Show 2017 (22-27 April).

Sports viewership is currently showing signs of decline. For instance, recent Bloomberg analysis of Nielsen data shows that viewing figures for the NFL’s prime-time games in 2016 dropped 14 percent since 2015. While such trends are cause for concern for sports broadcasters and rights holders, the need for immediate access to live sports-based content continues to drive eyeballs, even if this is at a falling rate.

These influences are at the heart of Sixty’s innovative product portfolio, which is designed to empower broadcasters, operators and content owners to deliver smarter, richer and more compelling services that stand out in a highly competitive and diverse industry landscape and enhance the sports viewing experience.

“The importance of delivering more immersive, exciting and unique user experiences should not be understated. Broadcasters have an opportunity to transform their offering, captivate audiences and monetise their live content by delivering highly valuable experiences across any platform or device,” said Kjetil Horneland, CEO, Sixty. “Through new, innovative products such as the Ease Live technology, we are enabling broadcasters and video platforms to increase the value of their investments by delivering highly enriched and interactive live sports experiences that will inspire sports fans across the globe.”

At NAB Show 2017, Sixty will show how its products and services enable broadcasters to innovate and implement a wide range of interactive features and graphics to enhance the television experience and ultimately excite viewers worldwide. This includes:

  • Ease Ads: Making its debut as part of Sixty’s showcase at NAB Show 2017, Ease Ads will deliver geo-targeted advertising as part of an interactive broadcast, enabling advertisers and sponsors to tailor their offerings to particular audiences, and for broadcasters to monetise their content through clickable advertisements and sponsorships. By offering relevant advertising that is linked to the context of a TV program, advertisers can add extra value to product placements.
  •  Ease Stats: A new feature added to Ease Live, this solution enables broadcasters to monitor engagement and deliver advanced statistical data on user behavior from every single viewer. By leveraging these real time statistics, broadcasters are able to tailor and deliver more personalised content that meets user preferences.

  •  Collaboration with Alston Elliot: Alston Elliot will combine its unique sports graphics expertise with Sixty’s interactive clickable on-air graphic solution, Ease Live, for immersive sports programming. Ease Live, which is pre-integrated in Alston Elliot’s graphics suite, will provide viewers with access to multiple layers of stats, replays, highlights and more, in multiple languages, ensuring broadcast and OTT sports services are even more engaging for the viewer at home.
